More right than wrong for the Lions, and a B- to prove it.

Nobody else had Tyler Batty anywhere near the Round 6 slot. The Lions did, by 50 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

However the rest shakes out, Burke at that price is a win they earned. That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Jonah Monheim at the Round 5 slot is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

They talked themselves into Tyler Batty at slot 173, and the board did not agree. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

They read the board right and Julian Fleming was the payoff at Round 6, Pick 29. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
