Draft Grade — Texans
Overall

FutureC
The Texans bled value on every deal, hence the D+. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Texans spent the 106th pick on Davison Igbinosun, a name the board had a full 31 spots lower. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D+.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The Sawyer pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The Jermaine Burton pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Harold Perkins Jr.
In the 25th overall pick they get a downhill thumper at linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Ollie Gordon II
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Ollie Gordon II at Round 2, Pick 9 is the proof. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick42
Rnd2
Jack Sawyer
They robbed the room for Jack Sawyer here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick60
Rnd2
Dontay Corleone
A quiet steal in slot 60: Dontay Corleone for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick74
Rnd3
Nic Anderson
Nic Anderson in No. 74 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick88
Rnd3
Clay Webb
Clay Webb in pick No. 88 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick89
Rnd3
Wyatt Milum
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Wyatt Milum. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick106
Rnd4
Davison Igbinosun
A real head-scratcher, Davison Igbinosun in Round 4, Pick 10 is miles ahead of his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick120
Rnd4
Nick Emmanwori
They took Nick Emmanwori at par in the Round 4 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick155
Rnd5
Terrance Ferguson
No edge and no loss on Terrance Ferguson in No. 155; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick216
Rnd7
Kaidon Salter
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kaidon Salter at pick 216. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
