FutureA+
The phones sank the Cowboys this weekend: C+. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Cowboys shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
They will need Collins to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Sanders.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick Analysis
Pick79
Rnd3
Trevor Etienne
Trevor Etienne at slot 79 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick90
Rnd3
Shilo Sanders
Shilo Sanders slid further than he should have, and pick No. 90 is lovely value for the safety. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick122
Rnd4
Denver Harris
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Denver Harris. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick146
Rnd5
Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins at No. 146 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick154
Rnd5
Jasheen Davis
They paid a round early for Jasheen Davis in the 154th pick, more than the board wanted. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick186
Rnd6
David Bailey
By-the-book stuff, David Bailey at Round 6, Pick 26 squarely in line with his ranking. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
