Draft Grade — Dolphins

The Dolphins won the night they stopped Stutsman from sliding. Grade: B-. The board owed the Dolphins one, and it paid up: Danny Stutsman, the No. 87 name on the board, sitting there at No. 149 like a gift left on the doorstep. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
They are betting Prather proves the room right and everyone else wrong. It is not that Porter is a bad player; it is that the Dolphins had louder needs to answer first.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Will Johnson
Will Johnson at the 13th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick48
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
They robbed the room for Malaki Starks here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick98
Rnd3
Deone Walker
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Deone Walker reach No. 98 and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick99
Rnd3
Darien Porter
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the Round 3 slot on Darien Porter with quarterback and edge rusher unsolved.
Pick114
Rnd4
Nicholas Singleton
A tidy bit of business in the 114th pick, where Nicholas Singleton graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick133
Rnd4
Joshua Gray
They left a pile of value on the table to take Joshua Gray this early at Round 4, Pick 32. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick149
Rnd5
Danny Stutsman
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Danny Stutsman in pick No. 149, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick187
Rnd6
Kaden Prather
Kaden Prather in slot 187 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick224
Rnd7
Jonah Monheim
A tidy little value on Jonah Monheim in Round 7, Pick 8, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick231
Rnd7
Jake Briningstool
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jake Briningstool in No. 231. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick252
Rnd7
Shilo Sanders
A straight-up fair deal on Shilo Sanders at slot 252, value and slot in agreement. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
