Draft Grade — Bears

FutureA+
Good, not great, for the Bears: B+. The Richard Jibunor selection is the head-turner. The Bears reached 95 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
Spending an early pick on TE-EDGE with interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the 1st pick they get a No. 1 receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick19
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
In the 19th overall pick they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick48
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
No drama and no debate, Cooper Beebe went about where he belonged in No. 48. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick68
Rnd3
Chris Braswell
By-the-book stuff, Chris Braswell at pick No. 68 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick104
Rnd4
Graham Barton
They did well to land Graham Barton in Round 4, Pick 4, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick132
Rnd4
Cade Stover
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went TE-EDGE with Cade Stover while clear needs at interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots sat open.
Pick141
Rnd5
Darius Robinson
No edge and no loss on Darius Robinson in pick 141; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick182
Rnd6
Jamari Thrash
They will replay Jamari Thrash at the 182nd pick for years; that is how good the value is. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick225
Rnd7
Richard Jibunor
Richard Jibunor at No. 225 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The roster logic is harder to follow.
