Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA FutureA+
Quarterback settled, Nix in the fold, and a B+ for the Bears.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Bo Nix is the Bears' quarterback, full stop. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

The cost of the Solomon reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. However the rest shakes out, Green at that price is a win they earned.

Spending an early pick on OLB-EDGE with running back, cornerback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Bo Nix
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term answer under center, though the board says they badly overpaid. A real need, handled.
Pick12 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In No. 12 they get a disruptor off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick17 Rnd1 JC Latham
In pick 17 they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick27 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a difference-maker at receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick53 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zach Frazier. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick75 Rnd3 Javon Solomon
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 75th pick on Javon Solomon with running back, cornerback and other spots unsolved.
Pick89 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
A quiet steal in pick No. 89: Michael Hall Jr. for less than the market said. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick92 Rnd3 Renardo Green
Steal is underselling it; Renardo Green at the 92nd overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick116 Rnd4 Mason McCormick
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Mason McCormick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick122 Rnd4 Jared Wiley
The board had cheaper options than Jared Wiley at No. 122, and it noticed. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
