There is a lot to like until you notice linebacker is still a hole. The Lions never got to the one that mattered most.

If Toles pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Nubin at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

They went 4 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
