The board owed the Lions one, and it paid up: Ladd McConkey, the No. 34 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 3 slot like a gift left on the doorstep. The bottom line is a respectable B.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
