Nobody had Will Putnam this high, and it is not close. The Lions reached 45 spots to get him at the 251st overall pick. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The Taylor III pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with safety, linebacker and other spots still on the board. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
