Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Lions were there to profit. Khristian Boyd, the No. 179 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 6, Pick 29.

Every board in the league had Hanson lower, and that gap is the story. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
