They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. The Lions indulged a want in Stover while a need in safety, linebacker and other spots stayed open.

Braswell at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
