Draft Grade — Lions
Overall
B

Good, not great, for the Lions: B. The Lions clearly saw something nobody else did in Jake Majors, taking him 23 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up. The Jackson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Tyler Booker
In the 28th overall pick they get protection for the quarterback, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick53
Rnd2
Landon Jackson
Nice patience on Landon Jackson, who had no business lasting to No. 53. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick111
Rnd4
Jake Majors
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jake Majors in slot 111, miles early. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick163
Rnd5
Nick Nash
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 25, with Nick Nash worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick189
Rnd6
JJ Pegues
No drama and no debate, JJ Pegues went about where he belonged in the Round 6 slot. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick228
Rnd7
Jermari Harris
They liked Jermari Harris enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 228. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
