The Chargers let Mestemaker fall and pounced. Final grade: B-. Somebody in Round 3, Pick 36 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Chargers sat still while Drew Mestemaker, the No. 11 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
The Chargers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
