The Patriots landed square in the muddy middle: C+.

The Patriots treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 2 slot on Ozzy Trapilo a full 45 spots early. A mixed bag that lands at C+.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. However the rest shakes out, Higgins at that price is a win they earned. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
