Alexokf DRAFTING FOR THEBuccaneers

Draft Grade — Buccaneers

Gadsden II should have been long gone. The Buccaneers pounced, and earned a B-. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Buccaneers were there to profit. Oronde Gadsden II, the No. 194 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 7, Pick 19. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Every board in the league had Powell-Ryland lower, and that gap is the story. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with tight end the one that mattered most. The back end got a real overhaul.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron at the Round 1 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick53
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
They let Jihaad Campbell come to them and pounced at the 53rd overall pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick84
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
They paid sticker price for Andrew Mukuba in pick No. 84, and that is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick121
Rnd4
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
They reached into another round for Antwaun Powell-Ryland, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick157
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in No. 157 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick235
Rnd7
Oronde Gadsden II
Somehow Oronde Gadsden II was still sitting there in slot 235, and they pounced on premier tight end value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
