RhinoMan DRAFTING FOR THE49ers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall

FutureB-
Sanders should have been long gone. The 49ers pounced, and earned a B-. You build a draft on nights like this. Raheim Sanders had no business being available in the Round 7 slot, and the 49ers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
If Mauigoa pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Jalon Walker
In pick No. 11 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
Fair-plus on Tyleik Williams, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick75
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
The board had cheaper options than Donovan Jackson at pick 75, and it noticed. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick99
Rnd3
Savion Williams
Savion Williams at the 99th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick112
Rnd4
Terrance Ferguson
Terrance Ferguson at the Round 4 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick138
Rnd4
O'Donnell Fortune
O'Donnell Fortune in No. 138 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick139
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
Taking Jared Wilson in slot 139 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick189
Rnd6
Kurtis Rourke
They robbed the room for Kurtis Rourke here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Pick228
Rnd7
Jaylen Reed
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Jaylen Reed in pick No. 228, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick232
Rnd7
Raheim Sanders
Circle this one: Raheim Sanders at the 232nd pick is a fall that decides a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick255
Rnd7
Francisco Mauigoa
Francisco Mauigoa at slot 255 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
