Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureA+
The Bears found their guy under center in Daniels: A. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Kamari Lassiter, the No. 41 name on the board, stolen at slot 104.
Jayden Daniels is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.
The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Reaching for Rice left real value on the table behind him.
Bottom line, with Jayden Daniels leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Joe Alt
Joe Alt at the 35th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick36
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
Good price on Jackson Powers-Johnson in slot 36, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick67
Rnd3
Ruke Orhorhoro
No edge and no loss on Ruke Orhorhoro in pick No. 67; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick75
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
A big swing on Brenden Rice at the 75th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick90
Rnd3
Tyler Nubin
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Tyler Nubin in pick 90, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick104
Rnd4
Kamari Lassiter
They will replay Kamari Lassiter at the 104th pick for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick108
Rnd4
Roman Wilson
The board fumbled Roman Wilson all the way to No. 108, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick122
Rnd4
Audric Estime
Somehow Audric Estime was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 22, and they pounced on premier running back value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick129
Rnd4
Ainias Smith
They paid a round early for Ainias Smith in the Round 4 slot, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick139
Rnd5
Justin Eboigbe
They paid up for Justin Eboigbe at slot 139 when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
