Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall A-
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB
The 49ers robbed the room for Belton. Final grade: A-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Anthony Belton tumbling to the 49ers in Round 7, Pick 10 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

Every board in the league had Cox lower, and that gap is the story. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In the end it comes back to Will Campbell, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In the 15th pick they get a blindside protector. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick45 Rnd2 Tre Harris
Tre Harris at Round 2, Pick 13 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick75 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in pick 75 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick113 Rnd4 Lathan Ransom
Good price on Lathan Ransom in pick No. 113, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick118 Rnd4 Shemar Turner
A straight-up fair deal on Shemar Turner at the 118th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick135 Rnd4 Donovan Jackson
The board fumbled Donovan Jackson all the way to the Round 4 slot, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick138 Rnd4 Danny Stutsman
Steal is underselling it; Danny Stutsman at slot 138 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick147 Rnd5 Cam Skattebo
You do not let a running back like Cam Skattebo reach No. 147 and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick187 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. is a better player than No. 187 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick226 Rnd7 Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton in pick 226 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick230 Rnd7 Quincy Riley
They will replay Quincy Riley at the 230th pick for years; that is how good the value is. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick249 Rnd7 Jabbar Muhammad
Somehow Jabbar Muhammad was still sitting there in slot 249, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick252 Rnd7 R.J. Mickens
R.J. Mickens in pick No. 252 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick256 Rnd7 Eli Cox
They left a pile of value on the table to take Eli Cox this early at Round 7, Pick 40. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
