Draft Grade — Bears
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureA
The Bears drew a line under the quarterback search with Williams: D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bears shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

Whatever Caleb Williams becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Sainristil.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the 3rd overall pick they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In the 9th pick they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 Tyler Guyton
Good price on Tyler Guyton in pick No. 34, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick75 Rnd3 Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens at No. 75 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick78 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
A straight-up fair deal on Cooper Beebe at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick81 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
No edge and no loss on Michael Hall Jr. in pick 81; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick102 Rnd4 Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil in Round 4, Pick 2 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick109 Rnd4 Trey Benson
Trey Benson slid further than he should have, and slot 109 is lovely value for the running back. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick117 Rnd4 Beaux Limmer
Beaux Limmer in pick No. 117 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick121 Rnd4 Javon Baker
Circle this one: Javon Baker at the Round 4 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
