Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

ValueB-

FutureB-
The Bears answered their biggest question with Williams. Grade: B. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Bears' quarterback, full stop.
The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They banked enough surplus on Coleman to cover a lot of smaller sins.
They will need Nourzad to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
Caleb Williams in No. 1 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick15
Rnd1
Byron Murphy II
A straight-up fair deal on Byron Murphy II at slot 15, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick46
Rnd2
Xavier Legette
They took Xavier Legette at par in Round 2, Pick 14, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick108
Rnd4
Hunter Nourzad
The board had cheaper options than Hunter Nourzad at the 108th pick, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick122
Rnd4
Brandon Coleman
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Brandon Coleman in the Round 4 slot, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick129
Rnd4
Brennan Jackson
Brennan Jackson in pick 129 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
