Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the 49ers, and a B- to prove it.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the 49ers started one anyway for KT Leveston, 43 picks ahead of schedule. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Devonshire falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
In No. 31 they get a blindside protector at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick63 Rnd2 Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes at pick 63 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick94 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice in pick No. 94 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick123 Rnd4 Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
A tidy bit of business in Round 4, Pick 23, where Jarvis Brownlee Jr. graded well above the range. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick130 Rnd4 Isaiah Adams
A reasonable price with a little left over, Isaiah Adams in the 130th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick132 Rnd4 Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey at slot 132 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick195 Rnd6 KT Leveston
They left a pile of value on the table to take KT Leveston this early at the 195th overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick211 Rnd6 Frank Gore Jr.
A reach for Frank Gore Jr. in pick 211; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick213 Rnd6 M.J. Devonshire
The board fumbled M.J. Devonshire all the way to Round 6, Pick 38, and they scooped it up. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick215 Rnd6 Keith Randolph Jr.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Keith Randolph Jr. in slot 215. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick232 Rnd7 Dylan McMahon
Dylan McMahon at No. 232 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick251 Rnd7 Tyler Owens
Tyler Owens in the Round 7 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick254 Rnd7 Ryan Cooper Jr.
Circle this one: Ryan Cooper Jr. at the 254th pick is a fall that decides a draft. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
