Draft Grade — Saints
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesD+ FutureA
The Saints kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

The one they had to fix is still broken. The Saints left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Anderson. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Arvell Reese in the Round 1 slot. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick42 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
Emmanuel Pregnon at the 42nd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick56 Rnd2 Antonio Williams
No drama and no debate, Antonio Williams went about where he belonged in slot 56. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick73 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
Nothing to complain about; Eli Stowers went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick132 Rnd4 Jadarian Price
A straight-up fair deal on Jadarian Price at the 132nd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Pick137 Rnd4 DJ McKinney
A tidy bit of business in Round 4, Pick 37, where DJ McKinney graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick148 Rnd5 Ar'maj Reed-Adams
Ar'maj Reed-Adams in No. 148 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick170 Rnd5 Tanner Koziol
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tanner Koziol. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick190 Rnd6 Aaron Anderson
Aaron Anderson slid further than he should have, and the 190th overall pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
