There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bears took Trajan Jeffcoat a full 66 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Whatever Caleb Williams becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

The Paul steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
