You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bengals did exactly that with Hayden Conner in pick 153.

For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Campbell.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with tight end chief among the fixes. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
