Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Ravens. Nobody else had Kendall Milton anywhere near the Round 7 slot. The Ravens did, by 134 spots, and that gap is the whole story. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The Gentry pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most. Quantity was the play, for better or worse.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Kamari Lassiter
Kamari Lassiter in pick 32 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick74
Rnd3
Mekhi Wingo
Mekhi Wingo at No. 74 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick95
Rnd3
Tykee Smith
No drama and no debate, Tykee Smith went about where he belonged in the 95th overall pick. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick109
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
They did well to land Blake Fisher in Round 4, Pick 9, just ahead of his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick132
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
Good price on Mohamed Kamara in slot 132, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
Pick134
Rnd4
Nelson Ceaser
No edge and no loss on Nelson Ceaser in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick169
Rnd5
Ainias Smith
Ainias Smith at Round 5, Pick 33 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick244
Rnd7
Kendall Milton
They reached a country mile for Kendall Milton at pick 244, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick253
Rnd7
Eric Gentry
Eric Gentry is a better player than the 253rd overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
