Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall C
ValueB- NeedA- TradesF FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Jaguars to a C.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Jaguars started one anyway for Trey Zuhn III, 31 picks ahead of schedule.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Landing Henderson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

So much rides on Mason Graham that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Mason Graham
By-the-book stuff, Mason Graham at the Round 1 slot squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick36 Rnd2 Benjamin Morrison
A reach on Benjamin Morrison in No. 36; the board had better options right there. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick70 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 6, with TreVeyon Henderson worth more than the price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick88 Rnd3 Luke Kandra
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Luke Kandra well ahead of where he belonged. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick106 Rnd4 Jaylin Noel
Jaylin Noel in slot 106 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick122 Rnd4 Tommi Hill
They paid up for Tommi Hill at the 122nd overall pick when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick125 Rnd4 Darius Alexander
No edge and no loss on Darius Alexander in slot 125; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick143 Rnd5 Tyler Shough
Tyler Shough at the 143rd pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick184 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at the 184th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick196 Rnd6 Jaylen Reed
Jaylen Reed slipping to pick No. 196 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A need, and now a little less of one.
