Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Bills fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+.

The Bills went off the board in a big way for Gabe Hall, 61 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

Getting Eichenberg where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Wiggins pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher, quarterback and other spots still on the board.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick33 Rnd2 Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. at pick 33 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick37 Rnd2 Terrion Arnold
You do not let a cornerback like Terrion Arnold reach pick No. 37 and blink. They did not. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick60 Rnd2 Nate Wiggins
They bypassed pressing needs at edge rusher, quarterback and other spots to take Nate Wiggins, a cornerback that was not the priority.
Pick69 Rnd3 Tyler Nubin
They barely believed it either: Tyler Nubin still on the board at the 69th pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at No. 94 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. It fills a real need, too.
Pick101 Rnd4 Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni in slot 101 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick124 Rnd4 Brenden Rice
Steal is underselling it; Brenden Rice at the 124th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick134 Rnd4 Audric Estime
Audric Estime in pick 134 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick144 Rnd5 Blake Fisher
Blake Fisher in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick160 Rnd5 Gabe Hall
A real head-scratcher, Gabe Hall in slot 160 is miles ahead of his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick163 Rnd5 Jaden Crumedy
A big swing on Jaden Crumedy at pick No. 163, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick183 Rnd6 Myles Murphy
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Myles Murphy well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick189 Rnd6 Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg at Round 6, Pick 14 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick195 Rnd6 Layden Robinson
Somehow Layden Robinson was still sitting there in the 195th overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick200 Rnd6 Walter Rouse
Walter Rouse at the Round 6 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick204 Rnd6 Malik Mustapha
They will replay Malik Mustapha at the 204th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick240 Rnd7 Ryan Flournoy
They robbed the room for Ryan Flournoy here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick248 Rnd7 Evan Anderson
Evan Anderson at slot 248 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick252 Rnd7 Matt Lee
Matt Lee at the 252nd pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
