You could see the war room lean forward. Luke McCaffrey at No. 189 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

They are betting Raym proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Spending an early pick on cornerback with interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Job largely done: linebacker settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
