Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Bills won the night they stopped McGlothern from sliding. Grade: B+.

The Bills ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

They banked enough surplus on McGlothern to cover a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick50 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
No edge and no loss on Xavier Worthy in slot 50; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick53 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
T.J. Tampa at the 53rd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick65 Rnd3 Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske at pick No. 65 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick128 Rnd4 James Williams
Good price on James Williams in No. 128, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick134 Rnd4 Javon Foster
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Javon Foster at the 134th overall pick is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick142 Rnd5 Luke McCaffrey
By-the-book stuff, Luke McCaffrey at Round 5, Pick 6 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick144 Rnd5 Justin Eboigbe
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Justin Eboigbe. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick160 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith in slot 160 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick163 Rnd5 Sione Vaki
Sione Vaki in the 163rd pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick189 Rnd6 Dwight McGlothern
They will replay Dwight McGlothern at pick 189 for years; that is how good the value is. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick200 Rnd6 Julian Pearl
No drama and no debate, Julian Pearl went about where he belonged in No. 200. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick204 Rnd6 Ro Torrence
The board fumbled Ro Torrence all the way to pick No. 204, and they scooped it up. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick240 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
The board had Frank Gore Jr. higher than Round 7, Pick 20, and the running back fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
Pick248 Rnd7 Sam Hartman
A reach for Sam Hartman in the 248th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
