Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the 49ers were there to profit. KeAndre Lambert-Smith, the No. 193 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 255th overall pick. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

They will need Powell-Ryland to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
