Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureC+
The Rams bet the future on Dart. The board says B-.

There is reaching, and then there is Sean Martin at Round 6, Pick 19. The Rams jumped the board by 187 and dared it to prove them wrong.

Whatever Jaxson Dart becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. However the rest shakes out, Cornelius at that price is a win they earned. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Jaxson Dart
In No. 32 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick64 Rnd2 Jalen Royals
Jalen Royals at the 64th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick90 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
Fair-plus on Andrew Mukuba, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick127 Rnd4 Smael Mondon Jr.
Taking Smael Mondon Jr. in the 127th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick190 Rnd6 Dorian Strong
The board fumbled Dorian Strong all the way to pick 190, and they scooped it up. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick195 Rnd6 Sean Martin
Sean Martin at slot 195 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It fills a real need, too.
Pick201 Rnd6 Nohl Williams
They barely believed it either: Nohl Williams still on the board at Round 6, Pick 25. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick202 Rnd6 Ajani Cornelius
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 202 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
