Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills robbed the room for Jones. Final grade: B-.

The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Jarrian Jones, the 202nd overall pick, roughly 53 picks past where he belonged.

The Johnson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Graham Barton
In pick No. 28 they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
Quietly one of the better values of the day, T'Vondre Sweat at No. 60. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick99 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
They took Brenden Rice at par in pick 99, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick129 Rnd4 James Williams
Value with a capital V on James Williams in Round 4, Pick 29, a genuine coup. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick159 Rnd5 Cornelius Johnson
Cornelius Johnson in the 159th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick162 Rnd5 Braiden McGregor
Braiden McGregor at the Round 5 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It fills a real need, too.
Pick198 Rnd6 Tanor Bortolini
Tanor Bortolini at slot 198 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick202 Rnd6 Jarrian Jones
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Jarrian Jones in the 202nd overall pick, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick206 Rnd6 Myles Murphy
They jumped the gun on Myles Murphy, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick246 Rnd7 Bub Means
They liked Bub Means enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 7, Pick 26. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
