justinjsmithstudio DRAFTING FOR THECowboys
Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall
B
ValueB

TradesB-
FutureB-
The Cowboys did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Cowboys left cornerback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The Polk value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The cost of the Jefferson reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Amarius Mims
In No. 24 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick56
Rnd2
Jonathon Brooks
Jonathon Brooks in Round 2, Pick 24 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick87
Rnd3
Ja'Lynn Polk
Ja'Lynn Polk at the Round 3 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick174
Rnd5
Jordan Jefferson
They liked Jordan Jefferson enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 174. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
