Draft Grade — Bills
Overall

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Bills for Phillips: B-. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bills watched Andru Phillips slide 32 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
Reaching for Randolph Jr. left real value on the table behind him. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick40
Rnd2
Ladd McConkey
Good price on Ladd McConkey in No. 40, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick60
Rnd2
Ruke Orhorhoro
No edge and no loss on Ruke Orhorhoro in the 60th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick78
Rnd3
Ja'Lynn Polk
A reasonable price with a little left over, Ja'Lynn Polk in the 78th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick128
Rnd4
Beau Brade
Beau Brade in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick134
Rnd4
Andru Phillips
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Andru Phillips in Round 4, Pick 34, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick144
Rnd5
Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey at pick 144 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick160
Rnd5
Tanor Bortolini
A wild overpay on Tanor Bortolini in pick No. 160, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick163
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
They let Kitan Oladapo come to them and pounced at slot 163. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick189
Rnd6
Keith Randolph Jr.
They reached into another round for Keith Randolph Jr., and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick200
Rnd6
Frank Gore Jr.
They reached a country mile for Frank Gore Jr. at the 200th pick, and the board is aghast. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick204
Rnd6
Eric Watts
A big swing on Eric Watts at the Round 6 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
Pick248
Rnd7
Josh Proctor
A tidy little value on Josh Proctor in slot 248, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
