Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall
B
ValueA-

FutureC+
The Commanders won the night they stopped Woods from sliding. Grade: B. You could see the war room lean forward. Peter Woods at slot 147 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom. They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
David Bailey
In pick 7 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick71
Rnd3
Colton Hood
You do not let a cornerback like Colton Hood reach Round 3, Pick 7 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick147
Rnd5
Peter Woods
The board fumbled Peter Woods all the way to No. 147, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick187
Rnd6
Brian Parker II
They barely believed it either: Brian Parker II still on the board at the 187th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick209
Rnd6
Caleb Douglas
They will replay Caleb Douglas at pick No. 209 for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick223
Rnd7
Harold Perkins Jr.
They robbed the room for Harold Perkins Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick224
Rnd7
Tanner Koziol
Tanner Koziol at slot 224 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick230
Rnd7
Ephesians Prysock
Ephesians Prysock at the 230th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick231
Rnd7
Louis Moore
Louis Moore in the 231st pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick232
Rnd7
Jeff Caldwell
Somehow Jeff Caldwell was still sitting there in pick No. 232, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
