Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Vikings to a D.

The Max Brosmer selection is the head-turner. The Vikings reached 44 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In the 24th overall pick they get a two-high chess piece. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50 Rnd2 T.J. Sanders
They did well to land T.J. Sanders in slot 50, just ahead of his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick97 Rnd3 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo at Round 3, Pick 33 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick132 Rnd4 O'Donnell Fortune
They read the board right and O'Donnell Fortune was the payoff at the 132nd pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick140 Rnd5 Kobe King
Kobe King in pick 140 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick161 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant in pick No. 161 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick257 Rnd7 Max Brosmer
This one needs a full-page explanation: Max Brosmer in the 257th overall pick, miles early. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
