Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall C-
ValueA+ NeedB TradesF FutureC+
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Vikings and Milum: C-.

You could see the war room lean forward. Wyatt Milum at the Round 6 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a C- and check back in two years.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Deommodore Lenoir gives the group a proven body among the projects.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

So much rides on Ashton Jeanty that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick34 Rnd2 Ashton Jeanty
Circle this one: Ashton Jeanty at the Round 2 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick97 Rnd3 Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron in the 97th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick140 Rnd5 Cam Ward
Taking Cam Ward in No. 140 is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick155 Rnd5 Walter Nolen
Walter Nolen at pick No. 155 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick193 Rnd6 Trey Amos
They barely believed it either: Trey Amos still on the board at slot 193. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick199 Rnd6 Wyatt Milum
The board fumbled Wyatt Milum all the way to the 199th overall pick, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick210 Rnd6 Tre Harris
Steal is underselling it; Tre Harris at Round 6, Pick 32 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
