FutureA+
The Bears left with their quarterback, and a A- to match. Start where it matters. The Bears took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
They are betting Eichenberg proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Drew Dalman gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Bottom line, with Jayden Daniels leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In pick No. 8 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick17
Rnd1
Byron Murphy II
In the 17th overall pick they get an anchor for the defensive front. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick34
Rnd2
Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens in Round 2, Pick 2 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick43
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
A reach for Jackson Powers-Johnson in the Round 2 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick46
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
A clean, defensible pick in No. 46 with a little surplus value in Xavier Worthy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick75
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
By-the-book stuff, Cooper Beebe at slot 75 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick103
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
They took Khyree Jackson at par in pick 103, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick110
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
A conviction pick on Tommy Eichenberg at the 110th pick that the board grades a round light. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick146
Rnd5
Jaheim Bell
Fair-plus on Jaheim Bell, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick193
Rnd6
Michael Wiley
Michael Wiley at the 193rd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
