The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bears reached some 31 spots for Kenyatta Jackson Jr., and value like that does not grow back.

They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. However the rest shakes out, McNeil-Warren at that price is a win they earned.

On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
