zimmer DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns
Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedA
TradesB-
FutureB-
A franchise passer in Ward headlines a B weekend for the Browns. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Browns spent their marquee pick on Cam Ward, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Jackson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The Stewart reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Cam Ward
Cam Ward in pick 2 is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick33
Rnd2
Josaiah Stewart
They talked themselves into Josaiah Stewart at pick No. 33, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick67
Rnd3
Kaleb Johnson
They robbed the room for Kaleb Johnson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick94
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
They will replay Donovan Jackson at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
