Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B-
ValueC
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Ravens: B-. The Ravens treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the 209th overall pick on Reid Carrico a full 67 spots early.
They banked enough surplus on Weigman to cover a lot of smaller sins. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Antonio Williams
In No. 31 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value.
Pick63
Rnd2
Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton in pick 63 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick95
Rnd3
Sam Leavitt
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Sam Leavitt in the 95th pick, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick131
Rnd4
Anthony Evans III
A real head-scratcher, Anthony Evans III in Round 4, Pick 29 is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick170
Rnd5
Conner Weigman
Steal is underselling it; Conner Weigman at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick172
Rnd5
Dante Moore
Dante Moore at pick No. 172 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick175
Rnd5
James Williams
James Williams at Round 5, Pick 37 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick209
Rnd6
Reid Carrico
They talked themselves into Reid Carrico at the 209th pick, and the board did not agree. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick244
Rnd7
Laurance Seymore
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Laurance Seymore well ahead of where he belonged. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick246
Rnd7
Courtland Ford
A wild overpay on Courtland Ford in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
