The Cowboys lost the trade table, and the D tells the story. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Cowboys did exactly that with Emery Jones Jr. in pick No. 85. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. Sampson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
