Overall C+
ValueD- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Some hits, some head-scratchers, and a C+ for the Lions.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Lions spent pick 60 on Oluwafemi Oladejo, a name the board had a full 81 spots lower. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. Hancock at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 JT Tuimoloau
A big swing on JT Tuimoloau at the 28th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick60 Rnd2 Oluwafemi Oladejo
They reached a country mile for Oluwafemi Oladejo at Round 2, Pick 28, and the board is aghast. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick102 Rnd3 Jackson Slater
Jackson Slater at the 102nd overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick130 Rnd4 Jaylen Reed
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jaylen Reed well ahead of where he belonged. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick196 Rnd6 Jason Marshall Jr.
Jason Marshall Jr. in pick 196 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick228 Rnd7 Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock is a better player than pick No. 228 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick244 Rnd7 Robbie Ouzts
A real head-scratcher, Robbie Ouzts in the 244th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
