Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B
ValueB NeedA- TradesA+ FutureD
Daniels is the Vikings' new face under center. Grade: B.

Start where it matters. The Vikings took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Eboigbe pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In pick 5 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick43 Rnd2 Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in pick No. 43 lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick107 Rnd4 Trey Benson
The board had Trey Benson higher than the 107th overall pick, and the running back fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick108 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at Round 4, Pick 8 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick128 Rnd4 McKinnley Jackson
McKinnley Jackson at No. 128 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick156 Rnd5 Jacob Cowing
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jacob Cowing at the 156th pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick166 Rnd5 Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones slipping to the Round 5 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick176 Rnd6 Justin Eboigbe
Steal is underselling it; Justin Eboigbe at slot 176 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick186 Rnd6 Walter Rouse
A slide stopped in No. 186, with Walter Rouse worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick187 Rnd6 Ty'Ron Hopper
Value with a capital V on Ty'Ron Hopper in the 187th pick, a genuine coup. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick230 Rnd7 Tanner McLachlan
Nice patience on Tanner McLachlan, who had no business lasting to slot 230. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
