Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Browns.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Browns reached some 123 spots for Jimmy Horn Jr., and value like that does not grow back. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want.

Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In Round 1, Pick 8 they get an anchor for the offensive line, though they paid up to get him.
Pick40 Rnd2 Nic Scourton
No edge and no loss on Nic Scourton in slot 40; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick72 Rnd3 Kyle Kennard
Kyle Kennard in the Round 3 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick94 Rnd3 Riley Leonard
They reached a country mile for Riley Leonard at the 94th pick, and the board is aghast. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick109 Rnd4 TreVeyon Henderson
Taking TreVeyon Henderson in pick No. 109 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick168 Rnd5 Terrance Ferguson
A wild overpay on Terrance Ferguson in the 168th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick184 Rnd6 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun at slot 184 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick189 Rnd6 Jimmy Horn Jr.
A real head-scratcher, Jimmy Horn Jr. in pick No. 189 is miles ahead of his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick204 Rnd6 Harold Perkins Jr.
Somehow Harold Perkins Jr. was still sitting there in No. 204, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick213 Rnd6 Quincy Riley
They left a pile of value on the table to take Quincy Riley this early at the 213th pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick215 Rnd7 Logan Parr
This one needs a full-page explanation: Logan Parr in the Round 7 slot, miles early. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
