The Panthers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Gracen Halton at Round 3, Pick 11 regardless, 101 picks early. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Reese at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The Panthers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
