A solid, sensible weekend for the 49ers: B-.

The 49ers did not so much draft Collin Schlee as overpay for him, 58 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

The Williams pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman and linebacker still on the board. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Goncalves. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

In pick No. 31 they get a blindside protector. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
