You can hear the double-takes from here. The Panthers took Jaheim Bell at the 102nd overall pick, roughly 39 spots before his name belonged. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Hadden.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
