Yeetbruh DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs

Draft Grade — Chiefs

TradesB-
FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Chiefs: B. Thirty-one other rooms let Isaac TeSlaa slide, and the Chiefs were the ones holding the card at slot 251. Highway robbery. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Dumas-Johnson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
In No. 31 they get an anchor for the defensive front, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick63
Rnd2
Harold Fannin Jr.
The board had Harold Fannin Jr. higher than the 63rd pick, and the tight end fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick71
Rnd3
Elic Ayomanor
They did well to land Elic Ayomanor in No. 71, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick95
Rnd3
Charles Grant
Fair-plus on Charles Grant, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick131
Rnd4
Joshua Farmer
They read the board right and Joshua Farmer was the payoff at slot 131. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick133
Rnd4
Cobee Bryant
A quiet steal in pick No. 133: Cobee Bryant for less than the market said. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick226
Rnd7
Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Jamon Dumas-Johnson at the 226th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick251
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
They robbed the room for Isaac TeSlaa here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick254
Rnd7
Jaylin Smith
By-the-book stuff, Jaylin Smith at the Round 7 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick257
Rnd7
Marcus Yarns
A straight-up fair deal on Marcus Yarns at Round 7, Pick 41, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
