FutureB-
Sadiq should have been long gone. The Chiefs pounced, and earned a D+. The Chiefs lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. If Black pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Sadiq falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In pick 9 they get a featured back. A real need, handled.
Pick40
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq in the 40th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick70
Rnd3
Kamari Ramsey
Kamari Ramsey at slot 70 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick74
Rnd3
Keionte Scott
A quiet steal in No. 74: Keionte Scott for less than the market said. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick91
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
Malachi Fields at the Round 3 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick110
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
Bryce Lance at the 110th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick146
Rnd5
Skyler Gill-Howard
A tidy little value on Skyler Gill-Howard in the 146th pick, a step better than break-even. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick176
Rnd5
Aamil Wagner
Fair-plus on Aamil Wagner, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick204
Rnd6
Kaelon Black
Kaelon Black at the Round 6 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick220
Rnd7
Jimmy Rolder
Jimmy Rolder at pick No. 220 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
Pick226
Rnd7
Thaddeus Dixon
They let Thaddeus Dixon come to them and pounced at slot 226. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
